The b & w rendition is innovative for a flower and creativity is a good thing in photography. I do like black and white images but maybe I'm too conservative and prefer the color version of this. That's just my personal liking. Very well done nevertheless.

OK..I have to say this is a great picture. Creepy in a small way because a vibrant rose turns dark. I am drawn to the detail of the of the rose petals. Being an avid gardener seeing a rose in this way is unusual. The contrast of the light are amazing.
